Many of you are probably wondering where I have been lately, and why I have not been posting! There is a good explaination, I have decided to go back to school! I am taking Homeopathic Medicine. In three years time, I will be a Homeopathic Doctor. This was a very big decision for our family, but I have an amazing husband, and he said "just go for it!" Since we reached this decision, my life has been crazy, not much time for papercrafting. I have promised myself, that I am going to continue to scrapbook and to sell CTMH, I will not be able to post as often as I was. So that is my life in a nutshell, for right now!

Enough about me, what about this layout!

I just have to start out, by thanking everyone that came to my open house. I had a wonderful turn out, with 20 ladies and 2 little one's in attendence. All and all I thought the evening went fantastic, and I was excited to meet several new people.

September Budget Club Workshop

Just in case any of you were worried, I am still around. I have been really busy getting ready for my Annual Fall Open House, and enjoying life! I am not sure why, but this summer just flew by. Last week, was the first week of school, so we are getting back into routine. So, hopefully that includes my papercrafting as well.

This is the layout, that my Budget Clubs completed this month. This was the last workshop for these ladies, and I am so excited them several are joining up again.

NEW Idea Book

Wow! I am so excited to share the Fall/ Winter 2008 Idea Book with you. There are so many new products, stamp sets and paper packs. I can honestly say that I like them all! I am not going to give to much info away, but, there are 4 NEW colours: Creme Brulee, Juniper, Sorbet, Tulip. These colours are replacing colours in our Spring Blossoms Collection.

Crazy Busy

I just wanted to let you know, that I am still kicking! We have been so busy these last few weeks, I have not had a chance to make anything new.
Just to let everyone know, the Close To My Heart Convention is this week in Orlando, Florida. What does this mean, well, they (CTMH) is revealing the NEW Fall 2008 Idea Book. I have had few sneak peaks, and all I can say is AMAZING!! My order of Idea Books are in the mail as I speak, and should arrive on my door step next week!! I am so.... excited.
Well, I am off, to spend a wonderful weekend with my hubby! It is our 7th Anniversay on Monday, and to celebrate we are going away. NO KIDS!! Do you think we will be bored??

Drum roll..... we start off with Delaney (17th), my brother Jason and my Grandpa (25th),my brother in-law (26th), and finally little Ashlyn (29th). So, I have been making numerous cards lately. This card is for my brother Jason. It is simple, but I like it. Honestly, do you really think that he cares that I "hand made" his card, NO! Someday, he will appreciate the things I do for him, LOL!

Blooming Flourishes

I had a couple hours to play today, while the little ones were sleeping! But, before they fell asleep, I had a chance to look through my new favourite Papercraft Magazine yet again. The inspiration for this card came from the techniques section.

As you can tell from my picture, my flash reflexed off the glossy cardstock. I tried turning it off, but the image did not show up well. I will learn some photography tricks soon, I promise!!!

I just received the August/September 2008 Paper Crafts Magazine in the mail, and I all I can say is, wow! I loved so many of the cards, and the ideas. I was really drawen to the black and white cards with the pops of colour. I have already bunny eared several pages and circled the cards, that I intend on making my own version of!!

New Addition

I am so excited to announce that my brother Jason, and his girlfriend, Shannon are having a baby!! I have known for about a week, and I was not allowed to say anything, until they told my parents. This little bundle of joy, is going to make me an "Aunt" for the first time and I am very excited. Of course I have already started think about the shower and the invites, the scrapbook that I want to make for their baby!! Endless possibilities.....

So this is a picture of the happy couple, Shannon is already 3 months pregnant and the card that I made for them.

Celebrating Late

This is the card I made for my Dad, for Father's Day! I can honestly say, that I could not figure out this shirt folding technique if I tried. I had several failed attempts, and put this idea aside, until I watched Nona's (her blog is list on the side bar) video tutorial!! She did a great job, thanks Nona.

The question is, why is my card so late? Well, my parents have been gone on a adventure for the past month! They left Wyoming Ontario, and ventured to the USA on their motorcycle! They headed out west and made it has far as the Rockie Mountains! Which they say are absoutely beautiful, but they will never go through them on a motorcycle again!! So they returned on Thursday from an amazing vacation, therfore, we are celebrating Father's Day today!

With the weather being so nice, and the girls wanting to play outside, I have been slacking on my papercrafting. This is a card that I cased from Kathi (her blog address is in my favourites), she is so talented, and I just had to copy!

Sometimes I have so many ideas floating around in my head, and they are quite complex. So when I see a card like this, I think how nice. Simple, yet beautiful. I loved Kathi's colour combo, so I used that too! I actually used my markers to colour in the flowers. I say that, because I really do not used my markers as often as I would like.

Year End Treats

Wow, I can not believe that it is almost the end of June! Hannah has one more day left in Junior Kindergarden, on Wednesday this is what she will be giving her friends.

She helped make these cute little jars out of used baby food jars, and we filled them with candy! She is so excited to hand them out! She carefully printed her name 21 times and she did all the stamping!

Hannah was so excited to have her first "friends only" birthday party, she invited all the little girls from her class and her friend Allie from Goderich!

Here are a few cards that I created yesterday, while it was raining cats and dogs!!! The first card I totally scraplifted from Melissa Johnson (CTMH Consultant). The second card is called a Gate Fold card, and I will be using this one for my Budget Club!

Card#1 - Colours: black, sunflower, pink carnation, kiwi and breeze. Stamp sets: Cottage Floral, Spot on Backgrounds and Happy Birthday. Accessories: Silver Brads, Breeze Organdy Ribbon and the NEW White Ricrac Ribbon.

Last Christmas Layout

So here is my final Christmas layout, and I feel great! I am not sure why, but it was really bothering me that I had not yet scrapbooked this past Christmas. I think what was bothering me was, that I felt that I was a whole year behind. Anyways, this is the layout for Ashlyn's "First Year" Album. I really like how it turned out, I used CTMH Reflections for both layouts.

I received my inspiration from a layout that I seen in Creating Keepsakes April 2008. I thought there layout was simple, and the pictures stood out. I tried to achieve that look as well, by keeping everything minimal.

Trick or Treat

Yesterday, was so cold here. I am not complaining, but I am. Monday was hot, 31 degrees, yesterday, 8 degrees, this morning we had frost!! I know, I live in Canada, LOL!!

So, I some how convinced the girls that we should play inside today, actually I let them pick out whatever movie they wanted, LOL. Once they were all set up I took advantage of the quiet and completed this layout.

I have been having problems with my camera since the fall, my pictures are not turning out as well as I would like. Therefore, I do not have a lot of good pics from Halloween, so I just made do. I would like to buy a new camera, any suggestions???

Yesterday afternoon, I received a phone call from my cousin, and she wanted us to come over after dinner because they had a new calf in their backyard! Tammy thought that Delaney would love seeing the calf. Every small child has an obsession with something, well Delaney's is cows!! We drive down the road, and she looks for cows and points them out. Our truck conversations go something like this "Mama, cows??" , "Delaney, look over there." , " Mama Cows, mooooo".
The crazy things we do for our children!! Anyways, Delaney loved the calf and followed the calf around for quite sometime.
I am hoping to touch some paper today, I have been busy in my garden!

Celebrate

Today is my husbands 29th birthday, Happy Birthday Doug! Doug wanted to have a big party this weekend to celebrate his last year in his twenties, but it was supposed to rain. Our long weekend in May, always forcasts rain. So instead of a big party, we are having his parents and brother over to have Chineese .

I will plan a big party next year for his 30th b-day!!

Crazy Week

I know that everyone has weeks, where you feel that you have accomplished nothing. Well, I have had one of those weeks. I started this two page layout on Wednesday, and finished it this morning.

I should mention that I was inspired to create this page from a sketch I seen in Creating Keepsakes April 2008 Edition.

Stamp Sets: Happy Haunting and The Works Alphabet

Accessories: Printing 101 Circuit Cartridge, Foam Squares

* I sponged my background paper, and started with bamboo then I just continued to add darker colours. The last colour that I used was Garden Green. Unfortunately, the pictures do not this technique justice, but the background looks great in person!

*For the Haunted House, I stamped the image several times and cut out different parts of the house. I then added foam squares to give the house a 3-D effect! I seen this done on the CTMH Boards a few years ago and loved it!

My Mother's Day Present

This is what my darling daughter Hannah, gave me for Mother's Day, I just love it! I will definately have to put this away until she is married with children. It is so funny that she told her teacher,I want to "sell them." But, I must admit, I say this often when we have had a rough day. I think that is my way of venting, in what I thought was, a positive manner. I asked Hannah if she knew that I was only joking when I said that. She laughed, and said "why would you sell me, I am toilet trained!!" I really guess I need to watch what I say.

I am hoping to get some crafting done today, seeing is that it is raining. Although, I probably should clean my house first!

I am so excited about my new Cricut Cartridges!!! I got them on sale at Hobby Lobby 2 for $99.00. I have been saving my birthday money for them to come on sale again. I have owned my Cricut since Christmas and have been using the George Font for everything, so it was time to add to my collection, LOL.

I got Hannah on the bus at 7:30am, and got myself ready while the other two little one's were sleeping. I had a plan, I should mention that my plans never work out in my favour. Anyways, so myself, Delaney and Ashlyn were out the door by 9:00am, and heading to Port Huron for "gas". This is what I kept telling myself, but I really did need gas because my gas light came on almost immediately. For all those that do not know where we are located, we are about 30 minutes from the Port Huron Michigian Border (gas is a lot cheaper in the US right now!!) So we made it to Sarnia going the speed limit, and across the border on our side no problem, until we reached the half way point on the bridge and we are stopped dead! I was freakin' out, because my gas light has been on now for probably 50km, I kept promising GOD that I will never let my gas get beneath 1/4 of a tank again!! You all know that story I am sure, so to make a long story short, by the time I made it up to the Border Officer on the US side both girls were crying and we had been on the bridge for an hour!!

So the next time I need to stock up on my collection, I will try to make it a time when I can go shopping by myself. Now, I am hoping to play with my new catridges tonight!!

Pretty In Pink

This morning I went and had my hair coloured and cut, and I feel like a new women!! The stylist took off about 4 inches in the front and like 6 inches in the back = one very cute bob cut!!

I was inspired to create this card, by a card that I seen in Creative Concepts Spring Edition (this magazine is sponsored by Hobby Lobby and comes out 4 times a year).

Capture The Moment

Yesterday afternoon, I was out side playing with the girls and Ashlyn was crawling around on the grass grinning from ear to ear. She was in her own little world, her sisters or the dog were not going to distract her.

Photography is not my strength when it comes to scrapbooking, but a snap hundreds of shots anyway just so that I can capture a shot like this one! I would love to take a photography class next year, I guess I should add that to my growing "To Do List" for 2009!!

First Day of Kindergarten

This is my layout that I completed last night, while watching the Montreal Canadians lose to Philli!! I am laughing quietly up here, because Doug is a huge Habs fan and I like the Wings. Go Wings Go!!!! Anyways, about the page layout. Before Hannah even started school I ordered the School Zone paper pack, I thought that would be a very fitting paper pack for her first day of school. Well, when I got my pictures developed and started arranging my layout, School Zone was too overpowering. So I opted for the Simple Pleasures paper pack and stamp set Alfresco, and now the pictures are the vocal point. I am going to finish my journalling on the left hand page at the bottom, whenever we get our new printer.

I think that it is important to remember, that we want our pictures to be our vocal points, and sometimes you have to try several different papers before you get the look you want. I know that I always lay out my papers on a working surface and put my pictures on top of the paper. I try to envision what my completed layout will look like, and make sure that I like the colour combos. Sometimes, the paper that I had in mind does not work, and that can be very disappointing and frustrating. Usually, I just put that project a side and start something new. Eventually, you will come up with an idea that works!!

Moments To Remember

I noticed in the April /May Papercraft Magazine these cute little needle point frames, and thought they were adorable! They were showing them with fabric, then I saw one completed at the Arkona Crop with paper and it was equally as cute. So, I thought I would do my version and I had happy with the way it turned out.

Recipe:

*Needle Point Frame

*Paper from the Silhouette Collection

* Breeze Cardstock

*Summer Poises paper flowers

*white big brads

I attached all the flowers with liquid glass, and added liquid glass to the centers of all the little flowers for demension. Create -A- Shade Paint was used over the bigger flowers for a little bit of shine. I think the next time I create one of these frames, I will paint it out in black or another dark colour. These are very simple to make, give it at try and don't forget to send me a picture, I love to see what all you creative ladies come up with.

Hello there, I am sorry that I have not been blogging for a couple of days, I have been busy! I participated in a hockey tournment on Saturday for Cancer, and had a blast. I do have to admit, today is the first day that I do not have any aches and pains.

So far this week, we have had appointment after appointment. With all that said, I ready to get papercrafting and for the warm weather to come back!

The card that I made above was inspired by a fellow consultant on our board. I recieve so much inspiration from my fellow consultants, my hope is that I am able to inspire you all just a bit too.

Today started out with rain, so we decided to take advantage of the rainy weather and do a craft. Hannah and I made these post-it note clipboards for her teachers. Hannah loves scrapbooking and papercrafting, she is a natural. She choose all the paper from our scrap box, and pretty much did all the work.

Now the sun is out, and we are going for a walk! Everyone take care.

Altering Basics

I came across this great info on altering by a fellow consultant and I wanted to pass it along. If you have any questions, you let me know. Thanks Mary V.!!

Usually, when you are altering an item, you don't have to be concerned about acid free/lignin free materials. In fact, a lot of alterable items are made of wood (the main source of lignin.) Altered art is usually just that- art. It is not meant to be a substitute for perserving your photos in an acid free/lignin free scrapbook.

TOOLS FOR ALTERING:

Adhesives

Whatever adhesive you choose, it's important to adhere the paper at the very edge. This helps prevent the paper curling up at the edges and makes fora more secure final project.

Liquid Adhesives:

Mod Podge- According to one definition it is a milky white liquid that dries transparent in less than 10 minutes. It seals and glues in one application. Most applications require two or three coats. It is available in both a gloss and a matte finish.

White Glue- this is typically a school glue. For a substitue for Mod Podge, mix white glue with a little water.

Scotch Quick- Dry Tacky Adhesive- Really a great all around adhesive. It's perfect for edges and corners you may have missed. The Scotch website has this to say about it: Ideal for paper, photos, metal and plastic. Acid-free adhesives to keep your memorabilia safe. Precision application, non-stringing. Adhesive technology insures your precious mementos stay where you put them.

Dry Adhesives:

Scotch ATG- With Scotch ATG Adhesive Applicators, a touch of the finger triggers quick, controlled application of a strip of Sctoch ATG pressure sensitive adhesive transfers tape. There is no mess or cleanup. Bond lines are thin and adhesive flows into surface irregularities. With 3M's advanced acrylic adhesive technology, you can bond, join, mount or laminate materials such as paper, plastics, metals, and wood and foam. I highly recommend this as an altered adhesive as well as scrapbook and papercraft adhesive.

Tombow Mono Adhesive Roller- Convenient, ergonomic dispenser precisely applies film of glue smoothly, quickly, cleanly. This is what CTMH sells and it will work as an altered art adhesive. I would recommend sealing with something as it may not have a long lasting hold, especially on wood.

A brayer or some smoothing tool:Old or fake credit cards work great too. You just need something to smooth out any air bubbles.

A variety of sanding tools:
This doesn't need to be anything fancy. I get a lot of my sanding tools from the local dollar store. You can use sandpaper, or even a paper bag will work as a very fine grit sandpaper. There are tools in the scrapbook market for this, they are nice, but definatley not a must have.

Items you can alter:
Anything that isn't moving! Some ideas are.....
*puzzles
*board books
*wood blocks- these make wonderful gifts for new parents. You can make these very simply by cutting a 4x4 piece of wood into 4 inch squares
*letters
*anything paper- boxes, books, notebooks, etc.
*metal containers- planters, recipe tins, band-aid tins, trays, muffin tins
*tiles- thses are easy to stamp in Staz-on and colour. They make wonderful and impressive gifts!
*office supplies- clips, clipboards, chalkboards, storage containers
*anything wood- tables, shleves, trays
*albums- it's fun to alter the covers and personlize them
*clocks

Basic altering.........
Begin by making sure your surface to be altered is smooth and ready to be altered. (This includes sanding any rough spots or priming with paint or gesso.)
Apply adhesive of your choice to both the paper and the item to be altered. THis is really a personal choice. Sometimes I use a dry adhesive. But sometimes I need that liquid adhesive to really *hold* the paper. I also use Mod Podge when I need to protect the surface.

When cutting your paper for the projects, I've found it's best to cut it larger than you need. Adhere it and allow it to dry. Then I sand off the extra paper from the edges. This makes for a perfect fit and also distresses at the same time.

Sand edges of your project to get rid of any imperfections- an emery board works well for corners and tight spots.

If you want to seal your project with Mod Podge or another sealer, this is the time to do so- before you embellish. It's much easier to apply the msealer before you place embellishments or pictures.

Embellish as desired.

Still Playing Catch Up

I had a chance to complete a layout today instead of a card!! This makes me so happy, seeing is I am a little behind in Ashlyn's Album. The two bigger girls playing out on the back deck so nicely, I thought I would take advantage of the time!!

So I can honestly say, that this card did not turn out how I dreamed it!!! I am not sure what I am not fussy about, but I thought I would post it any way!! The colours used where: Bamboo, Dessert Sand, Indian Corn Blue, Honey , White Daisy and Heavenly Blue. Stamp Sets: Alfresco and Solo "D".

I am loving this beautiful weather, I think my head is in the garden and not in my cards. I will try another card tomorrow, so don't forget to check back in.

Birthday Wishes!!

My favourite card of the day, by my daughter Hannah (5 years old).

Yesterday, I celebrated my 27th birthday! I had a wonderful day and a lovely lunch with my mom, aunts, cousins and their daughters. They all made me birthday cards, and I was so touched. My family loves when I make them cards, and they always comment about how there cards would never measure up to mine. They could not be anymore wrong, I love the cards that they made me, and I thought that they did a wonderful job!!

Last night, I was fortunate enough to be choosen to play in my hockey leagues "R" Star Game. We were playing for a little boy, "Jesse" who is only 2 years old, and he has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and only has 7 months to live! Our hockey league had a silent auction and all the proceeds went to help support the family. It felt wonderful to be part of this evening, thanks BSHL!!!

I hope that everyone enjoys another beautiful day.

The colours are: Topiary, Dutch Blue, Citrus Leaf, Bubblegum. I coloured a white big pink flower with a bubblegum marker for the darker pink flower and finished off with a button from our collection. The rub-ons are from the Connection Rewards. Enjoy!!
I have been feeling guilty all day because I haven't added anything to my blog in a couple of days! So while the two little one's were sleeping, and in between loads of laundry, I managed to create a simple card! It took me all of two minutes.

The weather has been so nice the last few days, we have been spending a lot of time outside! I actually got a sun burn yesterday. I was wearing sunscreen that had expired, so I guess there is a reason for those dates!!! Remember to throw out those expired bottles, so you do not get a burn.

Cracked Glass

This is a really neat technique, the pictures are not true to colour. The chalked image does not pop like it does in real life, but you can get the idea of the technique. I used all CTMH products. The colours are: sweet leaf, petal,blush and honey cardstock. The stamp set is, Seed Packets. I used photo hangers and the ribbon is from the Colonial White Collection.

Here is what you need:

- white cardstock
- image to stamp
-ink pads
- versamark or any kind of embossing ink
- clear embossing powder
-heating tool
- tweezers (sometimes your fingers get a little burned)

Here is what you do:

1. Stamp your image with an embossing powder or pigment ink. (or do direct to paper technique using clear embossing ink). Pour on embossing powder all over. Remove excess powder.
2. Using your heat tool, heat up the powder until the powder changes from matte to shiny and raises.
3. Do not heat for to long or the powder will melt into the paper.
4. Repeat pouring on powder and heating at least 3-4 times..... layering clear embossing enamel all over your image.
5. At this point if all the layers are completed..... you can add embellishments (ie. brads) if you want to. This is optional.
6. Once the enamel has cooled off, bend it too crack it!

TIPS: By sticking your project in the freezer, this could speed up the cooling process.... and may add a few cracks.

Family Picture

A Touch Of White Daisy

When I was out surfing the web last night, I came across these really cool cards that a fellow CTMH consultant had posted on our bulletin board. She had stamped an image in white daisy pigment ink, and then stamped the same image over top the initial image in the colour of the cardstock. I thought it looked very neat! So I was inspired to create my own batch of cards. They are very simple, and I can make so many more cards with all the scraps, maybe tomorrow.
Sorry about the fuzzy pictures, I keep trying to find the problem with my camera. Unfortunately, I always get side tracked, I can't even blame the girls!!

Saturday Card Sketch

I have come up with a new sketch for you ladies to try out! As you can see, I still haven't gotten Doug to show me how to draw these sketches on the computer, so I apologize for the hand drawn sketches.

To throw a twist into this sketch challenge, I am going to offer a prize to the top three cards that people send me! Just take a picture of your card and attach it to an e-mail. I am going to leave this challenge open until April 16th, that is next Wednesday! Take advantage of the rainy weekend, and get scrapping!

Paper Pleating

Good morning everyone, here is my card for today! I have seen paper pleating everywhere these days and I thought I would give it a try! I am really happy with how my card turned out!

Of course, all the products are CTMH. The paper is from the Creative Basics Silhouette Collection. The cardstock is breeze. I used the Dimensional Elements Classic Alphabet and painted them with reinkers and I added glitter while the paint was still wet. The paper flowers are the Summer Poises. The stamp set is, Card Commentary.

Paper Pleating:

1. Cut a strip of paper, twice the size you want the finished length to be.

2. Use a scoring blade to mark the folds. I used 1", 1/2", 1", for the entire paper. (the size of your pleats will be determined by the measurements you choose)

3. Accordion-fold the paper along the scored measurements.

4. To keep the pleats in place, glue or stitch the pleated paper to your project.

* There are so many variations to these instructions and each will give you a different look. These are the simplest instructions that I found!* These instructions are from Papercrafts April/May 2008.

I'm Back!!

Sorry my camera is acting funny, the colours are not coming out true. All products are CTMH, except for the Metal Letters they are from Memory Keepers. Colours: Petal, Sweet Leaf, Butter Cup. I used the Big Pinks and our buttons. The paper is from the Paper Garden Collection. I stamped on top of the Big Flower with Playful Petals.

I am sorry for not posting in a couple of days, the weather as been calling my name! We have been spending so much time outside, I actually am getting a tan.

I had a great time at the Arkona Scrapbooking Day, the ladies did a great job organizing it. I met a lot of new people and had time catching up with some ladies that I haven`t seen since High School!!

Hannah had her skating carnival on Saturday as well! She did so well, I am very proud of her! I am actually getting tears in my eyes, LOL. She has improved to much this year, actually, she has improved to so much in the last six weeks. Way to go Hannah! I will try to post pictures soon, my camera was acting up, and I had my Dad taking pictures.

The scrapbook layout above is of Ashlyn. I finished it this morning, and thought I should post something new! I have so many idea, not enough time.

Arkona's Crop Make n' Take

This is a coaster frame. I used all CTMH products. Silhouette Paper pack, with silver hinges and red sparkles. The stamp set is the March Stamp Of the Month "Simple Beauty".

Thinking Back, To Warmer Times

So we made it through what was, hopefully, our last snow fall. It was funny completing these pages and remembering how hot it was on Thanksgiving Weekend. Actually, this time last year, I was wearing short sleeves and jeans (maternity) to work. We have crazy weather here in Canada, or is it Global Warming??

Fossil Stone Technique

I have choosen to use very bold colours, but this technique is equally beautiful with soft colours. Colours: Hollyhock and Garden Green. Stamp Set is Kindred Spirits.

Fossil Stone Technique

This is what you need:

- glossy cardstock (cut to size)

- 2 ink pads

- rubber brayer

- acetate page protector

This is what you do:

- open your page protector

- ink up one side of the page protector with one ink pad (be liberal with the ink, cover the entire page)

- ink the opposite side of the protector with your other colour (remember that your colours appear light on the acetate)

- close your page protector and brayer over the entire page (this is combining the two colours of ink pads)

- then place your cardstock in the page protector and close, brayer over the entire page!

- the glossy paper should now have a stone look and is ready to adhere to your project of choice!

March Stamp Of the Month- Simple Beauty

colours are: Buttercup, Sweet Leaf, Petal. I used our watercolour pencils and a blending pen to colour in the flower and butterflies.

All Products are CTMH. I used my Cricuit for the Title. The paper is from the Free Spirit Collection. I wanted to keep this layout very simple, because I didn't want anything to take away from the pictures. These pictures were taken on Thanks Giving Weekend at the Alvinston Conservation Area while we were camping!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend. Our family had a busy weekend, but we loved every minute of it! The girls were so cute in their little easter dresses, although, they were not very co-operative when it came to picture taking this year.

Yesterday, Doug and I were able to take Hannah to see Disney Princesses on Ice in Toronto. She loved it, and enjoyed her special day! We definately recommend this show if it ever comes to our area.

Spring Is Finally Here!!

This morning I seen my first robin in the backyard, and I just had to smile. Yesterday, Delaney and I were killing time while we waited for Hannah to get off the bus, and we seen that our tulips were starting to grow! I am not sure why, but I just got a huge burst of energy. I started planning my garden design and completed 10 of my cards for the card swaps!! Thank you Spring.

Easter Mini Accordian Album

All products are CTMH. Colours are blush, buttercup, chocolate and iris spring. The paper is from the Sonata Collection and the stamp set was the January Stamp of the month Eastertime. I used white daisy ribbon and sparkles and pink paper flowers for accents.

This was so easy, I am going to make one of these for my mom and mother inlaw for there Easter Treats!! They each bought a set of dresses for the girls, so I will showcase the girls in there pretty little easter dresses. I just need to convince the girls to sit still so I can snap away and then need to get the pictures developed by the weekend. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Tiny Hands

All products are CTMH accept the "Tiny Hands" rub-on, from my stash. Colours: Blush, Baby Pink and Taffy cardstock. I used the white sparkles and the Club Connections Rub-Ons.

This is a layout that I completed for Ashlyn. All the pictures were from her first week of life!

I used a colour blocking technique, as well as a faux stitching technique (use a paper piercer and attach the holes with a gel pen).

A Stamper’s Husband

She learned to stamp on Monday.

Her embossing was quite fine.

She forgot to set out dinner,

So we went out to dine.

She brayered backgrounds Tuesday

She says they are a must.

They really were quite lovely

But she forgot to dust.

On Wednesday it was birthday cards

She says that chalking's fun.

Shading, blending, and watercoloring...

But the laundry wasn't done.

I do not know about all of you, but I must admit that my house work gets put on hold some days. I just get these wonderful ideas and I NEED to get them down on paper, LOL!! When I told Doug that I was going to start this blog, he thought it was a good idea. He was actually proud of me I think, because he showed the guys at work! Polished Stone Technique

Supplies you will need: Rubbing alcohol, glossy paper, two different colours of reinkers, one metallic reinker (Brilliance Metallic reinkers by Tsukineko used here) and one cotton ball.

Randomly place metallic reinker droplets on your glossy paper.

Soak your cotton ball with rubbing alcohol.

Add two or three drops of each reinker in one spot, then move onto the next colour. Space out your colours evenly on your cotton ball.

This is what your cotton ball will look like.

Dab your cotton ball filled with reinkers and alcohol into your metallic ink spots. Do not swirl, as the colours will mix together. Continue dabbing all over your glossy paper.

You need to work fairly quickly, because the alcohol speeds up the drying process.

The finished product. Let dry completly, apprx. 5 minutes. Now all you have to do is decide which card or layout you are going to use your beautiful paper on!

Like everyone else in Ontario,we were snowed in yesterday. So I took advantage of the weather and my husband and created this beautiful album with tags that pull out! I am hoping to attach some pictures soon, and give as gift to someone special in my life!!

I am considering offering this as a workshop, what do you all think? If there is enough interest, I will offer this album as workshop in April. I think it would make a great Mother's Day Gift! This was the layout that I completed yesterday. I am happy with how it turned out. I am finally making some progress on Ashlyn's Baby Album, I am only 7 months behind!! I am trying not to stress out over far behind I am in my scrapbooking. I think that this an important thing to remember for everyone that is behind. We should celebrate the pages that we have completed, and we should all show them off. I am terrible for completing pages and projects, and they just sit in my crafting closet. Shame on me. So yet another goal for myself is, to post my layouts and projects! Scouts honour, LOL!!

Will this snow ever go away! I was just listening to the news and sounds like Southwestern Ontario is going to be hit with another storm tomorrow. We will keep our fingers crossed that it skips over us.

One good thing about all this snow, is that I am forced to stay home. Which means I should be able to catch up on my scrapbooking, right? No, our oldest daughter Hannah loves to make cards, and we spend a lot of time making cards for our loved ones. Yesterday, we came up with some really cute Easter Cards. All products are CTMH.

Well, it is another snow day around our house. Buses are cancelled again, and I still have three sick little girls on my hands. Successful Cropping

Successful Cropping 101

The most important thing that you can do to ensure that you have a successful crop is too set goals. Whether you hope to complete 1 page or 10 pages, or you want to finish all your birthday cards for the year. The key to reaching your goal is to be organized. This means having all the tools that you may or may not need on hand. With this said, you do not need to pack your entire scrapbook collection in the trunk of your car and fit your kitchen sink in the backseat!!

1- Pick your photos for your layouts ( each layout usually contains 5 to 7 pictures)
2- Draw your layout on paper. Make a rough sketch or choose from one of the 50 two page layouts that both Cherish and Imagine have to offer.
3- Select colours that compliment your photos. Choose your pattern paper, stickers and or stamps that coordinate with your pictures. (Remember to bring neutral cardstock for the bases of your layouts)
4- Only pack coordinating ink pads and markers that match the papers that you will be working with.
5- Select accessories that you will use, for example: ribbon, buttons, brads etc... Remember to only pack what you will need; you can always add a brad at home later!!!
6- Adhesive, Adhesive, Adhesive!! You can never have too much glue, tape runners or liquid glass.
7- Pack your favourite paper trimmer, scissors, eyelet setters.
8- Wear comfy clothes! Bring your favourite beverage, and relax!!
Remember everyone at your crop has the same love, paper crafting! So if you forgot something that you cannot live without, just ask!!!

Tips and Techniques

I have been hearing from some customers lately that they love our products so much that they buy everything, but then when they go to use it - they have no clue what to do with it. Well, if that is you, then I need you HELP. Please respond to this email and let me know which products you want to see featured here. I will pick one or two a month and give detailed uses for those items. Afterall, why let something sit in a box when you can use it to enhance your pages and cards>? All responses will be kept anoynmous- so go ahead and sumbit them.

This month ........ Paper Flowers

They are all the rage and if you haven't seen our new Big Pinks- you don't know what you are missing. We carry 6 different types of paper flowers:
Big Pinks
Just Blooms Summer Poises

The tips I am going to share will work with any of these products. Inking them will work best on the lighter colors and are great for the White Daisy when you are trying to color match. Add color to your flowersDye your flowers using the waterbrush and any color re-inker. Use a craft jar to pour in a small amount of reinker and dip the tip of your waterbrush into it. Apply to the tips or any part (try the seams) of your flower and let dry. (tip....to dry them faster use your heat gunSponge the flowers with ink from your inkpadApply ink from a reinker or ink pad with a stipple brushMix a small amount of reinker with pearl paint and apply to flower.You can also use chalk and apply with sponge daubers.Add Pizzaz or Change the LookUsing the write and rub pen add glitter to your flowers.Fold your flower in half to get a different kind of blossomStamp of your flowers using a flourish or a dotted floral image (such as that in Celebrate Life).Cut the flowers apart and use to form a butterfly or a turkey!Adhering your flowers to your pageYou can use anything to do this - the more creative the better!Use brads, buttons, waxy flax, glue dots, sparkles (with glue dots on both!), the new mini medleys chocolate collection, etc. etc. Where to use themAnywhere and Everywhere!Add dimension to your pages. The flowers are great for girls....and boys (especially the autumn colors). Accent pages, fill empty spaces, use as "O" in a word, put in corner of a picture, add several cascading down or across the page as a border, clump a bunch together in the corner of a page to resemble a flower patch, place a Big Pink alone on the front of a card for a dramatic effect, pile the Autumn Leaves up at the bottom of your Fall pages to resemble a leave pile or have them "falling" down the page for a dramatic effect. Wonderful Weekend

We had a wonder weekend around here! Doug and I allowed ourselves a full day and night without the girls!!! The first one, in seven and a half months. We went sking at Mount Holly,which is only an hour and a half away, then we did some shopping at Birch Run!!

We celebrated Canada's newest holiday, "Family Day" at my cousin and her husbands house with our extended family! They hosted a Guitar Hero and a Nintedo WE (pardon my spelling on this one)Party! What a blasted! I had never played either before, I think I may become addicited! My arms are a little tender today. Could be from skiing?? Probably not.

I actually completed 4 scrapbook pages on Friday night, at my first ever open crop! I am happy with both layouts, and they are tucked away safe and sound in my albums.

Dahlia Fold Card

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!
So here is my creation for today! I have been seeing these Dalhlia flowers everywhere and wanted to give them a try for myself. They actually are extremly easy. I got the intructions from Jessica Washington. (I have add the link to my favourites)

So if you are wondering how I have time to create a card before 8:00 am, this is how I do it. Last night I was cruisin' the web like I usually do before bed, and I found these great instruction. This morning I got right to work before my middle daughter, Delaney, got up for the day. I decided what paper and stamps to use, I had all my materials sitting on the kitchen table. So when Delaney got up and was eating breakfast, I started my papercrafting. Crazy I know, but it really is the quietest time of my day.
